Best Place to Pamper Your Pooch: Dogma Premier Dog Spa
If Dogma Premi
er Dog Spa sounds like a place where you might like to spend the day (instead of your pooch), it’s no surprise. The former ice cream store offers and array of creature comforts, including an underwater treadmill, fluffy towels, nifty bejeweled collars and doggy facials. Pampered pooches are spruced up by Dogma’s skilled groomers, and the injured or elderly benefit from Dogma’s resident rehab veterinarian. There’s even daycare. 105 N.      A Wayne, Pa., day spa offers therapeutic services for Fido and Fluffy.Dogma Dog Spa

Touting itself as the first holistic pet retreat in the Philadelphia area, Dogma Premier Dog Spa in Wayne, Pa., provides grooming and rehabilitative services for dogs and cats.  “We not only want our clients to look good but also to feel good,” says spa owner Linda Barsamian.

Barsamian’s pet haven offers a menu of basic grooming services (featuring all-natural products), but the spot’s real draw is its array of indulgent spa treatments including massage, aromatherapy and green clay treatments.

Pets with special needs are also welcome at the spa, and Barsamian says if your dog or cat is finicky about new experiences, a pre-treatment “happy” visit helps reduce the stress that comes with being primped.  Rehabilitative therapy is overseen by a veterinarian and is individualized for pets recovering from surgery, injury or disease.  Healing treatments at Dogma include acupuncture, chiropractic work, therapeutic laser procedures and hydrotherapy. – E.B.

Hello Neighbors...from MainLineNeighbors.comIn The News

As most of you know, we are residents of Wayne - so we, like you, are often looking for businesses in the area that offer different services. And when we find a business that exceeds our expectations, we like to let all of our members know about it.

Dogma Premier Dog Spa, in Wayne, was one of those places for me. It wasn't just their service that exceeded expectations -- the biggest surprise was the price! Not only were they reasonable, they were far less expensive than my old groomer (a local vet).

If you are a pet owner, and take your dog (or cat) to be groomed on occasion (or frequently) - check out the rest of my personal experience story with Dogma on the sidebar below.

The name "Premier Dog Spa" may make you think "too rich for my blood" -- but don't let the name fool you! Yes, they are definitely a premier dog spa -- they offer everything to pamper your pup (or feline) -- therapeutic spa baths, pawdicures, body massages, hot oil treatments . . . you name it!

BUT . . . they also offer basic grooming services --- and at very reasonable prices! (certainly based on my personal experience at least)

I have a long haired German Shepherd mix. He is a large dog and has an incredible undercoat. I was paying over $140 to have him groomed at my old groomer. My first trip to Dogma was for a basic grooming and it was under $90 They did a GREAT job. They are extremely professional, friendly, and timely!

I was using a local vet before (and I LOVE this vet -- just very expensive grooming services). Typically I would have to drop my dog off at 7:30 in the morning and they were still rushing around trying to finish him up at 6:30 in the evening. Dogma took my pooch at 9:00am and I was called at 12 noon to pick him up. And he looked fantastic!

So -- whether you want to pamper your pets with the ultimate in luxury, OR if you just want a great place to have your pet bathed and clipped at a reasonable price - give Dogma a try!
